I am a contemporary artist and educator with a career in the visual arts spanning over 30 years. I am classically trained holding a Master's in Fine Art and I reside and work in Melbourne / Naarm.
Immersing myself in the world of art has always been a significant aspect of my life. My aim in my work is to bridge the gap between traditional techniques and contemporary artistic expressions by creating and sharing personal narratives that resonate with my world and life experiences.
My artwork is authentic and honest. It serves as a snapshot in time, providing glimpses into the intimate connections I share with my environment. Reflective, expressive, sometimes dark, and playful, my art is often characterised by limited backdrops or the ethereal essence of expansive landscapes.
Lyrical, fluid strokes mark and define the work. The interplay of dark and light tones, colour, and texture dancing on, in and around, sculptural forms, paintings and prints are inherent in each works.
Through my practice and aesthetic intricacies, I hope viewers are intrigued, emotionally drawn to my work, and encouraged to make their own personal associations and connections to their own world.
As a multidisciplinary artist working across ceramics, printing, and painting, my works have found homes in collections across Australia, Belgium, France, Italy, New York, and Japan.
